Summer afternoons are hot in the desert. Moab is in the desert. Hence, summer afternoons are hot in Moab. That’s why Poison Spider Bicycles wants you to go for your bike ride in the morning…the earlier the better! So, our bicycle rental day starts at 4 PM and ends at 5 PM the next day. Pick up your rental bike between 4 and 6 PM. Keep it overnight so it’s there, ready to ride when you wake up, way before Poison Spider Bicycles is open, even before breakfast if you want.
Desert sunrises throw a pinkygolden glow on the red rocks around Moab. The morning air is cool on bare arms and legs, the perfect temperature for riding. Early in the day, the trails are your own private biking paradise. You may see wildlife. You may see the moon set. You are guaranteed to have a truly special experience, with time for siestas, river trips or cocktails by the pool in the hot afternoon.
